Aikay has an LL.B (Hons) BL (Hons) and LL.M. He also holds a PLD from the prestigious Harvard Business School (Executive Education).
Aikay was first called to Bar back in Nigeria in 1989. He had a stint in legal practice between 1989 and 1993 after which he sought to diversify his experience and therefore joined the robust banking/financial services industry where he spent about two decades rising to the level of Regional Vice-President at FCMB PLC an overseas first class bank.
During his long career in banking, Aikay established deep understanding and competences in several areas of core business, operational support and company secretarial/board advisory services. He possesses remarkable negotiations as well as strategic collaborative skills with an innate ability to build consensus among cross-functional teams.
Aikay also holds another BL (Hons) degree in Law awarded by the Law Society of Upper Canada. He was called to the Bar in Toronto Ontario in 2015. He is also a member of the Law Society of British Columbia Canada. As part of his diverse business and legal training, Aikay has attended several leadership and management programs at very reputable institutions including the Harvard Business School Boston Massachusetts USA, Credit Academy of London UK, Steven Covey Leadership Center Utah USA, The New York Institute of Finance USA etc.
He sits on the boards of several entities in Canada and overseas including some not-for-profit organizations. Currently, Aikay serves as the President and Board Chair of First Incorporated Consulting Limited an accredited partner and franchisee of the Brian Tracy Global Brand. He is also a member of the Coaching and Teaching faculty of Brian Tracy Center in Canada and Africa. In 2014, Aikay was named as a lifetime person in the Bristol Harvard Alumni Who Is Who and in 2016, he was inaugurated as a member of the Burnaby City British Columbia Board of Trade
As his hobby, Aikay loves soccer and spends time with his family watching games. His other hobbies include traveling, reading and volunteering time for a lot of worthy enterprises. He is married to Francisca and both have two lovely children.
